Hailee Hickey
Owner and Licensed Electrologist
Hi! I’m Hailee. I’m the owner of Cape Fear Electrology. I’m a licensed electrologist in North Carolina (license #E-326) and a member of the United Professional Electrologists Association. I attended the Electrology Institute of New England in Tewskbury, MA and practiced in my hometown (Stonington, CT) before relocating to Wilmington in 2017. I started my business when I was 24 years old and today, almost 10 years later, I still love being an electrologist. I’m extremely passionate about what I do and enjoy seeing how life changing it can be for my clients. I live in Wilmington with my dog Ivy, a few dozen half-dead houseplants, and an internal monologue that never stops.
Am I a good fit for you and your needs?
Electrolysis takes an average of 2 years of consistent appointments for complete permanency, so we’re going to be spending a good amount of time together. Please read below to make sure we’re going to be a good match for each other!

Personal Limitations
- I only offer electrolysis on select areas of the body. I have a genetic connective tissue disorder that causes chronic pain throughout my entire body. Certain body parts are very difficult for me to work on without causing increased pain, so as much as I would love to help you with all of your hair removal needs, I can not offer large projects such as legs, backs, and brazilians at this time. An updated list is available on the Consultation Request Form.
- I do not work on peach fuzz. Peach fuzz is normal! Almost every single human being on the planet has peach fuzz. It helps regulate your body temperature, protect your skin, and adds softness to your face. While you can get electrolysis done on peach fuzz, it is not something that I offer as a service.

Office Rules
- My hours are 9:00am to 6:00pm on Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri and 9:00am to 1:00pm on Saturdays. I do not work on Wed/Sun and I do not work outside of my set work hours.
- Bigotry will not be tolerated. If you are homophobic, sexist, transphobic, racist, etc. this is not the place for you!
- I will not engage in any polarizing conversations regarding religion or politics. Please tell me about your neighborhood gossip or juicy workplace drama instead.
- Text and email are my preferred forms of contact. I will always pick up/call back if you get lost or are calling to say you’ve arrived for your appointment- but I am very unlikely to return a voicemail in a timely manner. Please inform me if you do not text or use email.

General Info
- I perform all 3 modalities of electrolysis; galvanic, high frequency/shortwave, and blend. I use insulated stainless steel and gold probes.
- A parent or guardian must accompany anyone under the age of 18 to their consultation. You are welcome to attend future sessions but it is not required.
- I use pre-packaged, pre-sterilized, disposable probes and sterilize my tools following infection control guidelines set by the CDC.
- I encourage new clients to get consultations with 2 or 3 different electrologists to make sure you choose the one who best fits your needs.
- Please refrain from wearing strong perfumes/scents in our office. Many of our clients, as well as myself, are sensitive to strong smells.
